On Tuesday, the Indian golf player Anirban Lahiri has been eliminated from the FedEx Cup playoffs as he finished 56th at the Northern Trust tournament, ending all his hopes to even qualify for the FedEx Cup playoffs which will be held this week.
Lahiri needed at least a top 10 finish to keep himself alive for the second event of the BMX Championship in the FedEx Cup playoffs. On Monday, the final round of the playoff had to be postponed due to a huge storm all around finding it difficult for the organisers to conduct the final. Lahiri had a string of six pars and then bogeyed the seventh, but got that shot to eighth.
Lahiri seemed between birdies and bogeys taking his 9th shot. A birdie on the 13th shot followed by a bogey on the 15th, again a birdie on the 16th shot which wasn’t enough by a bogey on the 17th attempt. He ended with a birdie on the 18th attempt. Lahiri made a fantastic effort in trying to qualify for the playoffs but unfortunately, he couldn’t as he still was praised by a lot of sportsmen and fans all over India. Lahiri had also taken part in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics this year.
The Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri showed his regards as he tweeted on Monday “Not the finish to the season I was looking for but happy with the effort. Big thank you to my team for riding the highs and lows. Time to rest up and recover”.
