Abhimanyu, who has been national champion, beat Kyrgyzstan’s Tenibekov Sanjar in a very comfortable manner. The Indian won the contest with the referee stopping the bout in the second round.
In the women’s 57kg category, Preeti won against Mongolian boxer, Tugsjargal Nomin with an RSC (Referee Stopping the Contest) verdict in the second round of the match. This also led her to the semi-finals of her campaign.
