Mike Richards has stepped down and has bailed on the new host of the ‘Jeopardy’ gig amid the ongoing controversy.

Richards dropped in a memo on the show’s production staff on Friday and announced his departure from the beloved game.

The 46-year-old revealed in the resignation letter that Sony Pictures Television will now resume with the search of a permanent syndicated host, while in the meantime the production will continue with guest hosts for the new season for which the details will be announced next week.

The fan’s backlash brewed as the rumours overhauled that Richard was in advanced negotiations for the job early this month.

The hasty exit of the host brawled in along the apology of his, regarding a series of sexist comments made on an old podcast which he claimed to be a “terribly embarrassing” misjudgment.

The problematic host admitted his insensitivity post the resurfacing of his crass comments made on “The Randumb Show” which he hosted from 2013 to 2014 as a student at Malibu’s Pepperdine University, a weekly late-night comedy talk show.

The man is now married and a father of two made snide remarks about a co-host and former assistant Beth Triffon and called her “booth ho”, ” boothslut” and “boothstitute” along with insensitive interrogating her about “booby pictures” on her phone.

Not only that but the California native called the co-host’s friends “really frumpy and overweight” adding that they look fat and not good.

Along with that, he claimed that women” dress like a hooker on Halloween”. It was found out that Richards was accused in lawsuits of harassing T.V. models to which he recently responded that it did not reflect the reality of who he is.
