Ever since the global pandemic has started Bollywood has plunged into action to help those in need during this difficult time. Sonu Sood, Swara Bhaskar, Shah Rukh Khan, and Amitabh Bachchan are few celebrities who helped the stranded migrants to reach their homes. Now according to a report on TOI, megastar Amitabh Bachchan has arranged two charter flights each for Gorakhpur, Allahabad, and Varanasi for migrants to reach their hometowns. Earlier the actor also arranged busses to help migrant workers stuck in Maharashtra, reach their hometowns.

Each flight will carry 180 migrants and leave the city on June 10 and 11. With this step, Big B has extended help to over 500 migrant workers. “Bachchan saheb asked me to arrange chartered flights for the migrants as he did not want them to lose hope after being told they would be sent home,” Rajesh Yadav, managing director of Amitabh Bachchan Corp Ltd, stated in the report. The migrants were initially supposed to travel by train but due to a technical issue, it could not be arranged and hence Big B decided to fly them home.

Apart from this, Amitabh Bachchan’s team has reportedly distributed ration packets to the needy and also donated masks, PPE kits, and sanitizers to hospitals and police stations in Mumbai.
