Dane Van Niekerk will be returning to captain her side once again after recovering from a back injury that kept her on the sidelines to miss out on the series victory over Pakistan and India earlier this year.
The 28-year-old skipper has not played for the national team since the T20 World Cup semi-final in March.
The all-rounder Chloe Tryon is another key player for the South Africans who was out injured keeping her on the sidelines along with her skipper. The pair make a comeback together against the West Indies while gaining valuable match practice in the Hundred tournament that is currently taking place in the UK and they shall be looking to carry on their form into their national side comeback.
“A few of our players have been making solid progress in their return from injuries and we are glad to see them giving a good account of themselves in International tournaments. We look forward to them taking part in this series after some time away from the national set-up,” said the head coach of South Africa women’s cricket Hilton Moreeng as reported by cricbuzz.
