Chelsea started their season comfortably with a 3-0 win against Crystal Palace.

Thomas Tuchel started with the same lineup we saw in the Super Cup, with three important changes. Christian Pulisic, Jorginho and Mason Mount started the game. Crystal Palace had come with a new man in charge, former Arsenal legend, Patrick Viera.  They came in with fresh expectations of the season, with a new manager and signings like Marc Guehi, which boosted the confidence of the fans.

In the end, Chelsea left the field, deserving winners. Crystal Palace couldn’t match the home team’s intensity. The away team didn’t even breathe for a second before the ball went back to Chelsea.

Chelsea first scored through Marcos Alonso’s curling freekick which left goalkeeper Vincente Guaita rooted to the ground. Chelsea’s second came from Pulisic, who scored from a rebound off the goalkeeper.

Chelsea ended the first half 2-0. They started the second with the same intensity and Palace was left wanting again. Trevor Chalobah, who made his Premier League debut, scored Chelsea’s third when he drove a low grounded shot outside of the penalty box.

Chelsea ended the match without any hassle. They can look forward to next week as they face a beleaguered Arsenal, with new signing, striker Romelu Lukaku expected to start the game.

Palace has started their season pretty badly, as they next face London rivals, Brentford who would be bouncing after their win against Arsenal.

The man of the match has to be Trevor Chalobah who has shown to be a reliable defender, with an amazing range of passing. The goal, itself, was a bonus. Marcos Alonso, too, played well.  The team has given a good account of themselves in this match. Will they be title challengers? Only time will tell.
