Argentina legend Lionel Messi finals pens down a two-year contract to sign with Paris Saint Germain after leaving his parent club Barcelona after 21 years on Tuesday night with an option to extend his contract for a year. Messi will now be wearing the number 30 jersey, which resembles the year he began to start playing professional football at FC Barcelona. He is finally set to be unveiled as a PSG player with a press conference to be held in Paris at (0900) GMT, 11 AM IST on Wednesday.

The former 6-time BallonD’or winner also added “I am excited to begin a new chapter of my career at Paris- Saint Germain,” as per the reports of the club’s website. He also later added by saying ” Everyone about the club matches my football ambitions”. He was given a grand welcome when he entered the city of Paris with a huge amount of supporters cheering up and excitement was built up seeing Messi’s arrival.

PSG’s Chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi said “I am delighted that Lionel Messi has chosen to join Paris Saint-Germain and we are proud to welcome him and his family to Paris.”
