According to reports, officials on Wednesday informed that two terrorists have been gunned down in an ongoing encounter between terrorists and security forces in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The firefight commenced in the early hours of the day after a joint team of police and the army cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation. As per reports, the search operation was conducted on the grounds of specific information about the presence of terrorists.

When the security forces arrived at the spot where the terrorists were hiding, they witnessed a heavy volume of fire which triggered the encounter.

Police officials informed, “Two unidentified terrorists killed in Pulwama encounter. Operation is in progress.”

‘India Today’ quoted the Kashmir zone police who affirmed that incriminating materials along with arms and ammunition were recovered by the security forces.

Earlier, two terrorists were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Pulwama on July 8. The encounter followed at a time when few areas of the valley remained close to mark the five years after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist commander Burhan Wani.

Meanwhile, on the same day, two terrorists were gunned down in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam. Later, the terrorist was identified as Kiyafat Ramzan Sofi of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba and Inayat Ahmed Dar of Al Badr.
