Bollywood veteran Dilip Kumar passed away at the age of 98. The actor was admitted to the Khar’s Hinduja hospital on June 30, due to the complaint of breathlessness and other old-age complications. Today morning, his family confirmed the news of his death.

According to the recent tweet from the late actor’s Twitter handle, his last rites will be performed at 5 pm at Juhu. Before his funeral, the body will be taken to his Pali Hill house. The tweet read, “Burial today at 5:00 PM. Juhu Qabrastan at Santacruz Mumbai.”

The wife of the late actor kept his fans informed about his health condition. She also requested everyone to pray for his health and well-being. Today morning, the Twitter handle of the late actor announced the sad news about Dilip Kumar’s demise. Dilip Kumar’s secretary, Faisal Farooqui wrote, “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, a few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him, we return. – Faisal Farooqui”

Along with several Bollywood celebrities and other prominent personalities, his fans too mourned his demise. One of the fans wrote, “Very sad news for all of us ..my heartful condolences to his family ..you will be in our heart always. REST IN PEACE Allah Magfirat Farmaye Aameen.” While the other wrote, “One of the great chapters that influence today’s modern civilization in Asian subcontinent ends today with the passing of legendary method Actor, philanthropist, an institution in itself one and only DILIP KUMAR (Yusuf Khan). May his soul rest in peace. Ameen #DilipKumar.” 

The actor made his Bollywood debut with the 1944 movie, Jwar Bhata and had a career span of about five decades. Dilip Kumar gave Bollywood some of its epic masterpieces like Mughal-E-Azam (1960), Madhumati, Tarana, Devdas (1955), Gangu Jamuna (1961), Kranti, and many others.
