Andy Murray booked his spot in the third round of the Wimbledon championship to meet 10th seed Danis Shapovalov of Canada, as he wins a thriller 6-3, 4-6, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in second round against German qualifier Oscar Otte.

British professional, Murray had never got defeated in a Grand Slam match to a player ranked as low as number 151 Otte before Wednesday, and he had never been dominated before the third round at the All England Club.

“I enjoyed in the end but not much the middle part. It was an amazing atmosphere to play in. I needed everyone’s help tonight and they did a great job.

I had to do something unusually. I did started going for my shots more. I dictated more points. I was being negative a little bit. Because of the lack of matches I didn’t make the right decisions.

I played the game properly in the last couple of sets,” said Murray to the 7,500 fans those were shouting and allowed in the stands.

Murray has not been so lucky with his health. He is working on his way to get his fitness back to 100% following hip-resurfacing surgery in 2019 which doesn’t allow him to hold up on his body for long, comfortably. The lack of mobility was the reason why British struggled in the second and third sets.

Murray is playing for the first time in singles at Wimbledon since 2017. “One of the reasons why I am still playing is because of the moments like that. Why would you want to give that up,” he said.
