Veteran actor Dilip Kumar took a trip down memory lane on Monday and tweeted a scene from the 1955 classic film ‘Devdas’ on Twitter.
The 98-years-old took to his Twitter handle and shared a short clip from his National Award-winning movie ‘Devdas.’ In the video, Dilip Kumar can be seen daydreaming about Chnadramukhi while he consumes alcohol to drown his sorrows. His performance is in the scene is considered as one of the best acts delivered by the cinematic legend in his career.
The actor captioned the video, “No artist is bigger than the character he’s playing.”

Bimal Roy directorial, ‘ Devdas’ is a period drama based on the novel written by Sharad Chandra Chattopadhyay’s ‘Devdas.’ The film starred Dilip Kumar in the lead, Vyjayanthimala who played the role of Chandramukhi and Suchitra Sen who made her debut with the role of Parvati ‘Paro’ in the film.
The movie was remade by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in 2002 with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit as Parvati and Chandramukhi respectively.
The story revolves around Devdas and Paro’s childhood friendship that blossoms into love. But, Paro is forced to marry a rich zamindar when Devdas’s family disapproves of their relationship which turns him into a depressed alcoholic.
