He also advised people to “remain calm.”

According to Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday, the single-day increase in new coronavirus infections in India dropped to 3.29 lakh after 14 days, bringing the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases to 2,29,92,517.
After a two-month steady rise, active cases have dropped to 37,15,221 (or 16.16 percent of total infections), with the national COVID-19 recovery rate standing at 82.75 percent. According to the data, the number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 1,90,27,304, with a case fatality rate of 1.09 percent.
