Operation Ganga underway to evacuate Indians from Ukraine; new directorate urged Indians to reach border checkpoints

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the government shall bear all the expenses and also said that India is increasing its efforts to rescue all Indians stuck in Ukraine.

The United Kingdom on Monday stated that it’s tightening the sanctions on Russia in alliance with the United States and European Union; restricting any transactions with the Russian Central Bank, wealth fund and Russian Finance Ministry.

The turn of events is so ghastly, as the world saw how Belarus exacerbated the situation by going from non-nuclear to nuclear status, clearly extending all support for the Russian Invasion through its borders. Putin has already given a heads up to his troops to be alert for nuclear orders. Today troops will invade Ukraine from the Belarusian borders.

The evacuation from Moldova would be easier when compared to Poland. The exit spots from Poland are currently jam-packed by Ukrainians trying to escape from the war. Shringla stated about 4000 Indians are from Kharkiv and the region of Sumy (East Ukraine),  Crimea and Odessa where the offensive is most high.

A direct train from Kyiv to Hungary is one of the options and regions close to the Russian border about 70 km, rescue teams from the Indian embassy are at border points waiting for Indians to reach and be evacuated.

Meanwhile on the ‘Operation Ganga’ front Air India carried out its 5th flight from Romania (Bucharest) and safely touched on the Delhi airport runway. Close to 249 Indian nationals were rescued.
