Fans of Peaky Blinders will be thrilled to know that Cillian Murphy is returning as Tommy Shelby for the highly anticipated film. In June 2024, Murphy expressed his excitement, saying, “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me.” Sophie Rundle, who plays Ada Shelby, will also be reprising her role.
Cast and plot revealed
Alongside Murphy and Rundle, Netflix announced that Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, and Stephen Graham will be joining the cast. While original stars like Paul Anderson and Joe Cole are yet to be confirmed, fans are eagerly anticipating updates.
The movie, written by series creator Steven Knight, will be set during World War II. Though specific plot details remain under wraps, Knight hinted that the movie will be “the same but different.”
Director Tom Harper, who worked on the first season of *Peaky Blinders*, is returning to helm the project. “Peaky has always been a family story — and so it’s incredibly exciting to be reuniting with Steve and Cillian,” Harper shared.
