When will Apple Watch Ultra 3 release?

Apple Watch Ultra 3: If you’ve been thinking about getting the Apple Watch Ultra 2, you might want to wait a bit. A newer model, the Apple Watch Ultra 3, is expected to come out later this year. A tech analyst named Jeff Pu shared that Apple is likely to launch it around September, which is usually when they release new iPhones too. This matches earlier rumours and makes it pretty likely that a new version is finally on the way.

The Apple Watch Ultra hasn’t been updated since 2023, so people have been waiting for something new. Last year, some thought the Ultra 3 would be released, but it didn’t happen. Instead, Apple just gave the Ultra 2 a black finish and called it a day. But this time, the new model might actually arrive.

The changes in the Ultra 3 aren’t expected to be dramatic, but there could be some useful upgrades. It might have satellite texting for emergencies, a better and more efficient display, and improved performance thanks to a newer chip. The size and shape of the watch will likely stay the same.

Jeff Pu also mentioned some other things Apple might launch soon. A new regular Apple Watch (Series 11) could be coming this year. In 2025, Apple might release its first smart home display, possibly called the “HomePad 6,” along with the Apple Watch Series 12 and an updated version of the Vision Pro headset. AirPods Pro 3 are expected in 2026, and in 2027, Apple may finally add blood pressure monitoring to the Apple Watch and also launch their long-rumoured smart glasses.

So, if you’re thinking about buying an Apple Watch Ultra soon, it might be smarter to wait a little longer and see what Apple has planned this fall. The new version could offer better features and give you more value for your money.

Apple Watch Ultra 3 release date

Apple might finally be ready to drop a brand-new version of its rugged smartwatch, the Apple Watch Ultra 3, later this year. According to analyst Jeff Pu from GF Securities, Apple is expected to reveal the watch during its big September event, where it usually also launches the latest iPhones. So, we could see the Ultra 3 alongside the iPhone 17 and the Apple Watch Series 11.

Apple skipped a proper update to the Ultra line last year. Instead of a new model, they just released the Ultra 2 in a black titanium colour, with no major changes. That means it’s been almost two full years without a real upgrade to the Ultra series, which is why this upcoming version feels like a big deal. Fans of Apple’s toughest watch might finally get the improvements they’ve been waiting for.

Apple Watch Ultra 3 design

Apple probably won’t change how the Apple Watch Ultra 3 looks. It’s expected to keep the same tough, titanium body as the earlier models, along with the handy Action Button and speaker on one side, and the Digital Crown and side button on the other.

Right now, the Ultra 2 comes in two colour options, Natural and Black, both made with titanium. But with the Apple Watch Ultra 3, Apple might introduce some fresh colours and new watch bands to give it a new feel, even if the shape and layout stay mostly the same.

Apple Watch Ultra 3 display details

The Apple Watch Ultra 3 might get a major screen upgrade, the same kind found in the upcoming Series 10. This means it could come with a new type of screen called LTPO3 OLED, which is smarter with power and looks better too. Here’s the simple version: LTPO3 helps save battery by using less energy when the screen isn’t doing much, but it can still refresh faster (once every second instead of once every minute) when it’s in always-on display mode. That makes animations and time updates smoother, even when you’re not touching the watch.

Also, the Series 10 comes with a screen that looks good even when you’re looking at it from the side, thanks to a wide-angle OLED display. Right now, that gives the regular Apple Watch a bit of an edge over the Ultra, at least when it comes to screen tech.

So, it’s likely that Apple will bring these screen improvements to the Ultra 3 too, making its already super-bright 3,000-nit display even more advanced, power-efficient, and easy to read from any angle.
