The F1 Miami Grand Prix action heats up as the 2025 season rolls into Miami for the sixth race of the year. Set for Sunday, May 4, the Miami Grand Prix promises high-speed thrills and maybe a few surprises on the streets of South Florida.
So far this season, McLaren is stealing the spotlight. Young gun Oscar Piastri has already bagged three Grand Prix wins, while his teammate Lando Norris kicked off the year in style by winning the season opener in Australia. Together, they’ve racked up eight podium finishes in just five races, putting both drivers comfortably at the top of the leaderboard.
Meanwhile, reigning champ Max Verstappen hasn’t quite dominated the way we’re used to seeing. That said, he’s far from out of the picture, with a win in Japan and a couple of second-place finishes, he’s still breathing down McLaren’s necks in the standings.

The weekend in Miami got off to a wild start. Norris claimed victory in a chaotic sprint race, which saw wet conditions and poor visibility shake things up. Charles Leclerc even crashed on his way to the grid during sprint qualifying. Verstappen had a rough time too, he finished last in the sprint after picking up a 10-second penalty. But don’t count him out, he bounced back and secured pole position for Sunday’s main event.
The starting grid for the race is shaping up nicely with Verstappen at the front, Norris right behind him in second, and rising star Kimi Antonelli slotting into third.
