Nicole Eggert, known for her roles in Charles in Charge and Baywatch, recently joined her Baywatch co-stars on the red carpet in Los Angeles for the premiere of After Baywatch: Moment in The Sun. During the event, she opened up about her ongoing health struggles.
Eggert, who has been a beloved figure on screen for nearly five decades, disclosed that she was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive cribriform carcinoma of the breast in December 2023. She shared this news publicly in January 2024. At the time, she reported gaining 25 pounds in three months and experiencing severe pain in her left breast, which led to the cancer diagnosis after a series of tests.
Nicole Eggert described her diagnosis as a wake-up call, emphasizing her determination to overcome the disease for the sake of her two daughters, Keegan and Dilyn. She mentioned that her biggest fear was not being there for her children, particularly her 12-year-old daughter, as she had no other immediate family support.
Eggert underwent an eight-month treatment process, including chemotherapy, and made a notable appearance on Instagram in March 2024, sharing a video of herself shaving her head. Now, having completed her treatment, she appeared on the red carpet with short hair, signaling a new chapter in her recovery.
On the red carpet, Eggert spoke about being in a “gray area” following her treatment. She explained that this stage, which involves waiting for further imaging and possible surgery, is the most challenging. The uncertainty of not knowing the next steps has been tough for her, contrasting with the more definitive actions she took during her treatment.
To cope with the stress of this waiting period, Eggert practices meditation and focuses on staying positive. Despite the difficulties, she finds purpose in caring for her daughter and working on projects like After Baywatch. She described her journey as a “wild ride” but remains optimistic and committed to moving forward each day.
