One Stop Systems shares jumped 10 percent on Wednesday. The rise came after the company announced a new defense order.
OSS received a 1.2 million dollar pre production order. The order came from a new U.S. defense prime contractor.
The work is tied to U.S. Army combat vehicles. OSS will design and build rugged computer and display systems for these vehicles.
This deal expands OSS’s role in next generation Army vision and sensor programs. It marks a step forward for the company in military technology.
Under the contract, OSS will supply several key systems. These include a GPU powered video and sensor concentrator. It also includes an intelligent PCIe switch and a GPU powered crew computer.
All of this hardware will be packed into a single rugged unit. The design focuses on size, weight, and power efficiency. It is built to handle harsh combat conditions on the ground.
The systems will process live video and sensor data. They will give crews a full 360 degree view around the vehicle. They will also help with object detection and operation in low visibility environments.
OSS expects to deliver prototype units after testing and integration. This process should take about three to six months.
CEO Mike Knowles said the deal is an important milestone. He said working with a top tier defense contractor validates OSS’s technology and durability.
The hardware is expected to be used across multiple Army vehicles. These include Stryker, Bradley, and Abrams platforms. It may also be used in newer manned and semi manned vehicles.
The U.S. Army is already testing OSS systems. Testing is taking place at the Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center in Michigan.
