The ceremony took place on Thursday, October 10, at 6930 Hollywood Blvd., in front of Wahlburgers restaurant and across from the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre. This honor marks the 2,792nd star awarded since the Walk of Fame’s inception in 1961.
“Best birthday ever”
Lopez expressed his excitement, declaring, “This is the best birthday ever,” as he accepted the honor. The actor is most recognized for portraying A.C. Slater on the iconic NBC sitcom “Saved by the Bell,” which became a cultural phenomenon during its original airing from 1989 to 1993. Lopez also gained fame as a host on popular entertainment news programs like “Extra” and “Access Hollywood.”
Among the guests at the ceremony was actor Mark Wahlberg, who shared a few words about Lopez. In a lighthearted moment, Lopez joked about the location of his star, saying, “I’m assuming that means free burgers for life.” Lopez took the opportunity to thank two significant figures in his life, the late television pioneer Norman Lear and legendary producer Dick Clark, who were instrumental in shaping his career.
Born on October 10, 1973, in Chula Vista, California, Lopez’s journey in show business began at the age of 10 when he was discovered at a dance recital. He made his acting debut in the short-lived ABC comedy “a.k.a. Pablo” in 1984. His role on “Saved by the Bell” led to several spinoffs, including “Saved by the Bell: The College Years” and a reboot that aired on Peacock from 2020 to 2022.
In addition to his acting career, Lopez has made a name for himself as a host, leading “Access Hollywood” since 2019 and previously hosting “Extra” from 2008 to 2019. He has also been involved in various hosting roles for major events, including the Miss America and Miss Universe pageants.
