Jonathan Majors was once on the fast track to Hollywood superstardom, but his career took a major hit after a highly publicized legal battle. Following his conviction for misdemeanor assault and harassment, many in the industry distanced themselves from him. However, one person who hasn’t turned his back on Majors is Michael B. Jordan. The Creed III star and director is making it clear that he still believes in Majors’ talent—and he’s even open to working with him again in the future.
Before his legal troubles, Majors was one of Hollywood’s hottest rising stars. He had just come off major roles in Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, where he played Kang the Conqueror, Marvel’s next big villain. He was also gearing up for an Oscar campaign with Magazine Dreams, a film that had already generated a lot of buzz. Everything seemed to be falling into place for him—until his March 2023 arrest changed everything.
Majors was later convicted of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment in a case involving his ex-girlfriend, British dancer Grace Jabbari. The fallout was immediate. He lost his role as Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, projects he had lined up were canceled, and Hollywood largely cut ties with him. In addition to his legal sentence, which includes a year of rehabilitative counseling and a 52-week domestic violence intervention program, his future in the industry became highly uncertain.
Michael B. Jordan wants Majors back on screen
Despite all the controversy, Majors still has strong supporters—one of the biggest being Michael B. Jordan. Jordan, who not only co-starred with Majors in Creed III but also directed the film, has spoken openly about his continued belief in Majors’ talent. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jordan has even expressed interest in working with Majors again, mentioning in an email that he’d love to collaborate on Creed IV and other projects.
In a recent interview with GQ, Jordan reinforced his support, saying:
“Tough situation… but he’s doing great, just got engaged. I’m proud of his resilience and his strength through it all, and [his] handling [of] it. I’m glad he’s good. That’s my boy.”
Jordan’s backing could be a game-changer for Majors. As one of the most respected actors and directors in Hollywood today, his endorsement might help reshape the industry’s perception of Majors. If Jordan successfully pushes for his return, it could open doors that might otherwise stay closed.
Will Hollywood and audiences give Majors another chance?
While Jordan’s support is significant, it doesn’t guarantee Majors a comeback. Studios ultimately make the final call, and given the current climate in Hollywood, they might be hesitant to take a risk on a controversial figure. However, the industry has seen redemption arcs before, and if there’s one thing Hollywood loves, it’s a good comeback story.
A major factor in Majors’ potential return will be how audiences respond. If moviegoers are willing to support his projects, studios might be more inclined to cast him again. His upcoming film, Magazine Dreams, which was well-received at Sundance, could be a critical test. If his performance resonates with viewers, it might signal to Hollywood that there’s still demand for Majors as an actor.
For now, his future remains uncertain, but one thing is clear—Michael B. Jordan isn’t giving up on him. Whether that loyalty will be enough to bring Majors back into Hollywood’s good graces is something only time will tell.
