Joe Biden, in a close fight to the White House against former US President Donald Trump, is leading by 2.7 million votes ahead of the Republican leader. His lead keeps on increasing as the counting of vote increases in the various states. He has already secured his foot in the states of Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Michigan and Arizona and is currently leading Nevada.

Millions of votes are still being calculated across the US, including in the state of California, which has reported only 64 per cent of the votes counted.

Trump was also on his way to nearing Obama’s record with 67.32 million votes. Provided that more than 100 million votes were received through early voting and mail-in ballots, there are at least 23 million votes yet to be counted, providing Biden with an opportunity to further increase his vote tally.
