DC fans have enjoyed good live-action versions of Superman, Batman, The Flash, and Cyborg. Green Lantern fans, however, have been less lucky. James Gunn is looking to change that with the upcoming DCU series Lanterns. The show will feature a star-studded cast and bring the galactic peacekeepers to life.
The first trailer for Lanterns was shown at the HBO Upfront event on November 25, 2025, in São Paulo. It focused on the lead characters, Hal Jordan and John Stewart, who have been training for months. Hal acts as a sort of mentor to John. We didn’t see them in their Green Lantern suits yet, but the trailer dropped an interesting hint.
It mentioned a “Squirrel Green Lantern,” likely Ch’p. In the comics, Ch’p isn’t a normal squirrel but an alien from the planet H’liven that looks like one. This suggests we could finally see this character in live-action for the first time.
Fans will have to wait to see how DC Studios brings this furry little hero to the screen. It’s shaping up to be an exciting addition to the Green Lantern universe.
