Season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise is coming to a dramatic close, and the finale is shaping up to be one of the tensest episodes yet. Swooon has an exclusive first look at the September 2 finale, where the last remaining couples will face their toughest decisions of the season.

Only five couples are left on the beach, but not all will make it to the end. With $500,000 on the line, alliances and friendships are being tested as the rose ceremony approaches. Alexe Godin and Andrew Spencer are safe after winning the most recent challenge, and Kathy Swarts and Keith Gordon have hinted that they may choose to bow out on their own. That leaves three couples nervously awaiting their fate: Jess Edwards and Spencer Conley, Katherine Izzo and Dale Moss, and Jeremy Simon and Bailey Brown.

Jeremy is especially aware of the high stakes. Speaking to Alexe and Andrew in the preview, he says, “I think it’s going to be between [me and Bailey] and Kat and Dale. Jess is friends with Kat, Spencer is friends with me and Bailey. If we have you guys on our side and Spencer, then I think we’re good.”

In a confessional, Jeremy admits he’s ready to campaign hard to protect his relationship. “It’s crunch time. I’m going to push the majority to vote for Kat and Dale just to make sure that Bailey and I are in a good spot,” he explains.

As the cocktail party wraps up, host Jesse Palmer arrives to deliver the news everyone’s been dreading: it’s time to vote. “There’s five couples right now and the women are handing out the roses,” Dale summarises. “We are all going to have to vote on two women who will not be handing out roses tonight. There’s going to be friends who are going to have to vote for friends.”

That’s where Kathy and Keith come in. As the couple most likely to tip the scales, their decision could determine who stays and who goes. “I am struggling,” Kathy confesses in the clip. “Somebody is going to be heartbroken.”

With friendships, romances, and half a million dollars hanging in the balance, the finale promises plenty of heartbreak, strategy, and maybe a few surprises before the roses are finally handed out.
