Another viral TikTok story that could easily translate to the big screen is the unlikely mix-up of two identical dogs at a doggy daycare. In a Netflix rom-com, this mix-up might lead to the two owners falling in love, but in reality, it was a stressful situation for all involved, especially the dogs. TikToker Maddy shared her experience of realizing that the dog she’d been looking after for two weeks wasn’t actually her own. The mix-up occurred because her golden retriever puppy, Farley, was almost identical to another retriever pup named Charlie at the daycare.
Maddy became convinced that Farley was actually Charlie after seeing a photo of the two dogs together on the daycare’s Facebook page. The only noticeable difference between the two dogs was a tuft of hair on Farley’s snout, which Charlie didn’t have. To confirm her suspicions, Maddy took Farley to the vet, where it was discovered that he was indeed Charlie.
In a follow-up video, Maddy explained that the mix-up happened because the daycare removed the dogs’ collars during playtime for safety reasons, without informing the owners, and then put the wrong collars back on the dogs afterward.
