The Diplomat Season 4 is officially happening, but it won’t see the light of day until Fall 2026! Netflix has announced that it is going to be part of its 2026 content line-up, but all sources indicate it’ll likely drop in the late Fall timeframe instead of the Spring timeframe, as some think out there.
Filming is expected to begin in London and New York in the Fall of 2025, with actress Keri Russell, who will reprise her role as the very talented Kate Wyler. As filming won’t be completed until July 2026, a May release date is logistically impossible for Netflix — unless they have found a way to travel through time! Currently, many industry insiders expect the release of the show to arrive around the Fourth Quarter of 2026, as it has in previous years.
So why are people so focused on next May? There was speculation about this when Netflix released its “Next on Netflix” headline, but Netflix has remained mum throughout the process. One thing is certain: the third season of the show will be available in October of this year, so Season 4 is getting a lot of speed leading into Season 3. With the world growing more politically unstable than it has ever been and Kate facing both new alliances and different betrayals, I will say that you will not be disappointed in waiting for the next chapter of this incredible story.
