Fans of the hit drama All Creatures Great and Small are in for a treat this Sunday. The third episode of the sixth season is titled Captain Farnon and it looks like a big one for Tristan. A brand new character named Charlotte Beauvoir will make her first appearance. She is played by Gaia Wise who happens to be the daughter of famous actors Emma Thompson and Greg Wise. This episode airs on PBS on January 25 and it is packed with both professional rivalry and personal drama.
The story follows Tristan and his brother Siegfried as they compete for a high stakes job. A wealthy new family in the area has a sick horse and both brothers want to be the one to treat it. While they are busy at work Mrs. Hall discovers a secret that Tristan has been keeping. This comes at a time when Tristan is still trying to find his footing again after serving in the war. He recently decided he wanted to get back into vet work now that the fighting in Europe is over.
Charlotte is the daughter of General Beauvoir and she meets the Farnon brothers right outside her home. When she sees them both together she jokes about asking for one Captain Farnon and getting a spare one instead. It is clear from the start that there is a spark between her and Tristan. They spend time together in the stables while dealing with the sick horse and the chemistry is hard to miss. Tristan even looks completely smitten as he walks away from their first meeting.
There are also some fun moments involving the local community. Mrs. Pumphrey and James are busy getting her famous dog Tricki ready for a very special visitor. It seems Mrs. Pumphrey is even thinking about getting into the dog breeding business for her beloved pet. The group eventually finds the little dog after a bit of a search. Meanwhile the rest of the village is gathered at the church as life in the Dales continues to move forward.
The episode will also feature a fancy party at the Beauvoir estate. New photos show Charlotte looking stunning in a dress while Tristan wears his military uniform. The two of them share a romantic dance together in the stable which suggests this relationship might move quickly. Even though there is a party going on Siegfried stays focused on the animals and keeps a close eye on the ill horse. It is a mix of celebration and serious veterinary work.
Tristan has not quite been himself since he came home from World War II. He has been doing a lot of deep thinking lately as he tries to adjust to civilian life again. Meeting Charlotte might be exactly what he needs to start feeling like his old self. Between the hidden secrets and the potential for a new love interest this Sunday is going to be a must watch for fans of the show.
