TATA IPL 2022: COVID scare in Delhi Capitals’ camp ahead of their match against PBKS; team delay their travel to Pune

Delhi Capitals’ travel plans to Pune ahead of their clash against Punjab Kings on April 20, 2022, at MCA stadium, Pune, leaves doubt on the status of the match.

The team has decided to not travel to Pune after a foreign player has tested positive. The player hasn’t been revealed yet but the franchise’s clash against Punjab Kings in Pune at Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) stadium. According to the reports, this is the second case of COVID in the franchise’s camp this year. The team has been quarantined in their rooms and the COVID – 19 tests have been scheduled for today and tomorrow. There has been no official statement made on the situation yet by BCCI.

Last year, too, the IPL was postponed and its second leg was conducted in the UAE. The reports suggest that the situation will be monitored closely by the BCCI administrators and a call will be taken accordingly. Delhi Capitals haven’t had a wise season as the franchise has lost nearly 3 matches out of the 5 matches they have played. The team is placed at 8th, followed by CSK and MI at 9th and 10th in the ranking.
