Yuki Bhambri suffers loss in Australian Open qualifiers, no Indians at the singles main draw

Yuki Bhambri was defeated by Czech Republic’s Tomas Machac in the Australian Open qualifiers.

Indian Tennis player Yuki Bhambri loses to Czech Republic’s Tomas Machac in Australian open qualifiers on Thursday. No Indians to perform in the singles main draw for the year’s first Grand Slam. Bhambri loses his second-round qualifying match 1-6 3-6.

Tomas Machac’s career consists of very high ATP singles with a ranking of 131 attained on 8 November 2021. On 1 November 2021, He also achieved high doubles ranking of 470.

Bhambri did make an impact with his attacking net skills in a straight-sets victory on Tuesday, but Ramkumar’s Ramanathan’s efforts to break the Single’s main draw of Grand slam was finished with a loss in the first round of Australian Open qualifiers.

Whereas in the women’s singles, Ankita Raina with a ranking of 203, was knocked down by Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko having 120th rank, 6-1, 6-0 in only 50 minutes.
