World number four Stefanos Tsitsipas with another early exit, knocked out in the quarter-finals in Hamburg

Filip Krajinovic attempts a major upset by eliminating World number four Stefanos Tsitsipas 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 at the quarter-finals of the Humburg Open.

Stefanos Tsitsipas, who had returned to the ATP action this week gets upset with another early exit following his loss in the first round of the Wimbledon championship against United States’ Frances Tiafoe. World number four gets knocked out in the quarter-finals at the European Open by Serbia’s Filip Krajinovic.

With the triumph against Geek star, Filip Krajinovic gets his third career top 10 wins. Tsitsipas had lost to World number one Novak Djokovic at the final of the Roland Garros tournament despite being up with a two-set lead.

Greek tennis professional Tsitsipas earned the first 11 points of the game before he was staggered in by the Serbian Krajinovic at the Centre Court.

Serb will now face countryman Laslo Djere who reserved his semi-final spot by overcoming third-seeded Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili, tomorrow at 5:00 pm IST to book a place in the final for the title.

Top seed Tsitsipas Greece had inscribed his first match after being defeated at the first round of Wimbledon as he achieved his victory against Dominik Koepfer of Germany at the Hamburg European Open in Germany on Wednesday and had progressed to the quarterfinals for the battle against Krajinovic, the number six seeded before his early exit at the journey.
