
Andrey Rublev outlasts World No. 1 Novak Djokovic to win his 11th title in men’s singles with a score of 6-2, 6-7, 6-0 at the Serbia Open. The Russian has defeated the Serbian for the very first time so far in their only two meetings.
The No. 8 in ATP rankings, Rublev has already won Dubai Tennis Championships defeating Jiri Vesely and Open 13 overcoming Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada. The 24-year-old from Russia is going through a pretty good 2022 season. He also reached the semifinals of the ATP Rotterdam and Indian Wells Masters before losing to Canadian Auger-Aliassime and Taylor Fritz respectively.
World No. 8 Rublev also won the doubles title at Open 13 with their tennis partner Denys Molchanov defeating duo Ben McLachlan and Raven Klaasen.
