Prajnesh Gunneswaran, an Indian tennis player has lost to the American Christopher Eubanks in the US Open qualifiers second round. The Indian won’t be playing in the main draw of the Us Open 2021 which will be starting from August 30 following this defeat in the qualifier match.

The highest-ranked Indian singles player, Prajnesh won against the Canadian tennis player, Brayden Schnur by 6-4 and 7-6 on Thursday in the first round of the US Open qualifiers. It was a straight win for the 31-year-old Indian player over the Canadian. Prajnesh qualified for the next round after this victory where he faced the American professional tennis player named Christopher Eubanks.

The American star player defeated Prajnesh comfortably by 6-3 and 6-4. Prajnesh was looking to go to New York City for the main draw of the US Open 2021 which will be held in Arthur Ashe Stadium. But, the second-round defeat didn’t let him go there. He did play in this tournament in the year 2019 and if the Indian tennis player would have made it to the main draw of the US Open 2021, it would have been his second appearance in the tournament. The match was played on Thursday at 11:05 pm (IST). It was a 50-minute showdown where the American dominated the whole game and register his name for the third round which will be held on Friday at 9:45 pm (IST). Christopher Eubanks is going to play against the Argentine tennis player S. Baez in the third round of the US Open qualifier.
