Going down two points against the World No. 8 (ATP rankings) in the first set, Novak never seemed under pressure as one of the greatest tennis players in the world right now knew the game could still go anywhere and he could still make a comeback win just like he did in the round of 16 against the American Jenson Brooksby. The next two sets were easy for the Serbian international as he won it comfortably by 6-2, 6-2.

The game went to the fourth set and Novak was in a great position to win it. The 34-year-old Serbian took the first point and keep taking them until he reaches 3 without any reply from the Italian. The Serbian international win the set by 6-3 at the end. Despite the Italian hit 17 aces as compared to Djokovic’s 12, he couldn’t win the game and had to move out of the competition from the quarterfinals. Novak has reached yet another semifinal and will be looking forward to winning the fourth title this year after the Australian Open 2021, French Open 2021, Wimbledon 2021.
