Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina announce not to participate in Fed Cup 2022

Ukrainian Tennis player, Elina Svitolina announced by a tweet on her official Twitter handle that she will not be participating in the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers 2022 and a few other tournaments saying she has aggravated a back injury.

Elina Svitolina, the Ukrainian tennis star Withdrawn from the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers. Billie Jean King Cup 2022 will going to held next month. On Tuesday Elina made an important announcement posting on her Twitter.

Elina wrote on her official Twitter handle, that she will not be participating in the Fed Cup 2022. Including a few other Tournaments in Europe. As she said that she has aggravated a back injury in her determination to represent her homeland in the court following Russia’s invasion.


She tweeted, it had been an extremely difficult couple of months for her, not only mentally but also physically. she continued that she was been struggling with her back and the pain didn’t let her prepare for the tournaments at her best. The situation in her homeland Ukraine gave her a huge push to continue the fight in the court but now her body can not handle it anymore and she needs to rest.

Elina Svitolina, amid the invasion, spoke out in the support of Ukraine. She in recent weeks has competed at the Indian Wells, Monterrey Open including Miami Open.

Svitolina lost in the opening round of the Indian Wells as well in Miami but reached the quarterfinals at Monterrey Open. And pledged to donate the amount of her prize money from that tournament to Ukrainian Army.
