Professional tennis player from India Sania Mirza was quick enough to congratulate the 2022 Roland Garros winners in men’s and women’s singles Rafael Nadal and Iga Swiatek.
Spaniard Rafael Nadal won the record-extending 14th Grand Slam in Paris, France, and the 22nd Grand Slam overall on Sunday, defeating Casper Ruud of the Netherlands in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, 6-0. In the women’s singles, World No. 1 Iga Swiatek of Poland defeated American Coco Gauff, 18, in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, to win her second Grand Slam championship, both at the French Open. In 2020, the first one was won.
The former doubles World No. 1 Sania Mirza took over Twitter to compliment both the players on their historical achievements.
Sania captioned her tweet “Incredible Iga” since the Pole has been outstanding this season, winning five WTA 1000 championships in a row and being undefeated since then, including winning her second major in Paris. Iga of Poland remains unblemished on clay and has extended her winning streak to 35 victories, which is more than Serena Williams and equalling Venus Williams.
