For the first time in 25 years, tennis legendary player Roger Federer is not in the ATP Rankings. The Swiss, for the first time in twenty-five years, completely dropped out of the rankings.
Federer was tied for 803rd in the singles rankings after making his debut at age 16 in September 1997. Until newly crowned Wimbledon 2022 champion Novak Djokovic broke the record, Federer had spent the most time at No. 1 in the history of the rankings.
Federer was ranked 97th before play at the All England Club started, but as the rankings are determined by a player’s performance over the preceding 52 weeks, and since he hasn’t played since reaching the Wimbledon quarterfinals a year ago, he now has 0 points.
The 20 times Grand Slam champion underwent his third right knee operation in roughly 18 months soon after that defeat.
