No. 1 WTA player Iga Swiatek has reached the final of the Roland Garros tournament beating Daria Kasatkina in straight sets with a score of 6-2, 6-1. This is the second time the Polish professional has advanced to a Grand Slam final in Paris France, the first was at the same competition in 2020 where she won her first major.
With the win over Kasatkina, World No. 1 Swiatek has extended her winning streak to 34 matches equalising with Serena Williams in 2013 and one win away from parallelling Venus Williams in 2000. The 21-year old from Poland awaits the winner of the other semifinals Coco Gauff and Martina Trevisa.
Swiatek is a heavy favourite this season for very torunanet. The player has made everyone her fan with her outstanding performance. The Pole has already bagged five back to back WTA titles overcoming quality players. She is anticipated to win her second career Grand Slam at the place where she won her first.
