French Open: Rafael Nadal defeats Novak Djokovic to enter Roland Garros semifinals 15th time

Nadal will now face Zverev in the semifinals of the French Open 2022 on June 3.

The 13 times champion Nadal came back from 2-5 down in the 4th set to book his spot in the last four of the Grand Slam in Paris, France against defending champion Novak Djokovic of Serbia, with a score of 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6(4) in a match that lasted for four hours and 10 minutes. The Spaniard reached his 15th semifinals at the Roland Garros tournament while the 36th of his career Grand Slam semifinal.

Meanwhile, Djokovic, who lost to Nadal in four sets, agreed in a post-match interview with Roland Garros that he could have performed better and that Nadal was a better player at important times during the match. The Spanish professional and 21 times major champion, Nadal is looking to make it the record stretching 14th major title in Paris, France.

The No. 5 ATP player Nadal will be next in action to book a spot in the French Open 2022 final against No. 3 Alexander Zverev of Germany on June 3 at 6:15 pm IST. The German yesterday beat Spain’s emerging star 19-year-old Carlos Alcaraz in four sets.
