Forbes declared Naomi Osaka as the “highest earning female athlete”

With Naomi topping the “highest earning female athlete”, the top 10 female athletes earn a total of $166.6 million.

Business magazine Forbes, published a list of “highest-earning female athletes” on Thursday. Forbes declared tennis player Naomi Osaka as the highest earning women athlete.

Four-time Grand Slam winner, Naomi Osaka is said to have earned $57.3 million, which includes her prize money as well endorsement contract fees. With majority coming from the endorsement, Naomi also got more than ten brands as an addition to her existing contract list.

The list came out a little later after Naomi decided to leave the French Open, as her mental health was not letting her focus on what she is passionate about. Naomi is said to have helped in raising awareness about mental health issues, specifically in sporting life.

Tennis player Serena Williams and older sister Venus are declared as the next two after Naomi on the list. With Serena having earned $45.9 million and Venus $11.3 million, the top 3 rankings are well deserved by the tennis stars. Simone Biles with $10.1 million and Garbine Muguruza ($8.8 million) reached the top 5.

Among the top 10 list of Forbes “ Highest-paid female athletes”, five of the spots are of tennis player. In 2019 all the ten names on the Forbes list were of tennis player, which came down to five this year.

Indian badminton player, PV Sindhu, along with the top tennis player Ash Barty, Nelly Korda the golfer and basketball player Candance Parker are on the top 10 too. All the top 10 athletes have collectively earned $166.6 million, which statistically has increased by 23% since the 2020 list.
