Australian Open: Alex de Minaur dives into the fourth round beating Pablo Andújar

Alex de Minaur has reached the fourth round after beating Pablo Andújar in the third round of the Australian Open.

In the running for the home title, Australian Tennis Player, Alex de Minaur has set up his place in the fourth round as he beats Spain’s Pablo Andújar at the third round of the Australian Open on Saturday.

Alex de Minaur defeats Pablo Andújar by 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 at the Rod Laver Arena. The victory of 22-year-old has revived the hope at Melbourne park after Australia’s Christopher O’Connell and Maddison Inglis were ruled out of the tournament.

Christopher O’Connell lost in the third round against France’s Maxime Cressy on Saturday, while Maddison Inglis loses to Estonia’s Kaia Kanepi at the third round on Saturday. Whereas, Pablo Andújar in the first two sets saves set points but Alex de Minaur made no blunder when it came to serving, shooting two aces before Andújar loses with an unforced mistake.

Alex de Minaur currently ranking no. 42, made his debut in July 2015 at the Spain F22, reaching the quarterfinals. He was also given a wildcard into the qualifying rounds of the Australian Open 2016 but loses in the opening round. Minaur is now all set to clash against Italy’s Jannik Sinner at the fourth round of the Australian Open on January 24.
