The 25-year-old is all set to clash against the 2017 US Open runner-up, Madison Keys in the semifinals on January 27. This is Barty’s second-time entry to the semi-finals at Melbourne Park when she lost to Sofia Kenin who ended up winning the tournament in 2020. World No. One player said that she as a person and player has grown and feels like a more complete player.
The Australian professional saved the only breakpoint that she faced against Pegula and turned five of the nine chances she had to break serve. The Wimbledon champion of last year is now aiming to achieve the first Australian woman to win the Australian Open since 1978.

With this victory, The 26-year-old has entered her second semi-finals of the Australian Open, seven years after making the last four at Melbourne Park when she was 19 years old.
Two more fixtures are scheduled to be played tomorrow for the quarterfinals to decide another semifinalist between Danielle Collins and Alize Cornet.
