Did Cristiano Ronaldo & Ronaldo Nazario choose not to vote for Kopa trophy 2022?

Footballing greats Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldo Nazario were among the many ex-Ballon D’or winners who did not submit their votes for the Kopa Trophy 2022

Kopa Trophy, organised by France Football and named after French legend Raymond Kopa, is awarded to the best U21 player with votes from ex-Ballon D’or winners and unlike Golden Boy award, youngsters playing outside Europe are also eligible for this prestigious trophy. Gavi bagged the 2022 award after dropping stellar performances for both Spain and Barcelona at the age of just 18.

While numerous Ballon D’or winners dropped in their choices, it is worth noting that 5-time Ballon D’or winner Cristiano Ronaldo and World Cup winner Ronaldo Nazario chose to stay silent with the reason still unknown. Apart from them George Weah, Michel Platini, Bobby Charlton and others also did not register their votes as per the leaked reports.

Gavi won the award with French sensation Eduardo Camavinga securing the second position and Jude Bellingham just finishing behind him. While legends like Messi and Figo placed Gavi first, Ronaldinho and Modric and many others chose to place Camavinga above everyone. The world would have loved to know the views of both Ronaldos too but it still remains unclear as to why they did not participate in the voting process.
