The current Indian swimmer Suyash Jadhav was indefinitely disqualified by the officials as per the Swimming rule 11.4.1 which indicates that at any time before the first breaststroke which is formidably kicked after the start, only a single butterfly kick is permitted.

On Wednesday, the Indian swimmer was disqualified immediately in the men’s 100m breaststroke final SB7 as he had a disappointing start and didn’t get a good outing to complete the entire final. The officials gave him a warning but despite that, he went against the rules and got disqualified. The 27-year old’s hands had amputated below his elbow at a very early age which made him suffer in today’s final. In 2018, he also won a gold medal in Asian Para Games alongside taking home a silver and two bronze medals in the 2016 German Swimming Championship, with a lot of pride and honour from the entire nation.

At the end of the final, it was Serrano Zarah’s CD of Columbia who took home the gold medal with his personal best of 1:12:01 seconds. Egor Efrosinia of the Russian Paralympic Committee taking the silver medal with a time of 1:16:43 seconds, meanwhile Blake Cochrane of Australia collects the bronze medal with a time of 1:16:97 seconds.

On Friday, Suyash Yadav had also missed out on the 200m individual medley event, as he was suffering from a cold and sore throat. He will be taking part in the 50m butterfly event on Friday, with the hopes of grabbing a medal

Paralympic India page confirmed the news by stating “ Suyash’s campaign in Men’s 100m Breaststroke SB7 Final at Tokyo Paralympics comes to an end. His time is not registered in the final as he has been termed disqualified”
