Sports Minister Anurag Thakur applauded Olympic-bound athletes with new initiative “Humara Victory Punch”

Sports Minister Anurag Thakur with “Humara Victory Punch” started a new ambition to hail the confidence and motivate the Olympic-bound athletes who are representing the nation.

While India will commence its mission at the Tokyo Games 2020 from Friday of this week with women’s archery, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur started a new preference “#HumaraVictoryPunch” to cheer Indian athletes who are going to represent the country and to motivate them ahead of the mega event.

A cumulative number of  127 sportspeople across 18 sports professions from India are partaking in the mega event, the largest ever group nation is sending to any Olympics.

The first batch of the country’s Olympic-bound athletes left for Tokyo on July 17 in the presence of the Sports Minister. After landing in the capital, they started with their training to be in the promising form to compete.

Anurag Thakur with the inscription published a video on his Twitter account nominating five people that included Kiren Rijiju, Virendra Sehwag, Akshay Kumar, Saina Nehwal and Vijay Shekhar that said: “Tag 5 friends/family members to show your support for the Indian Olympics Team.”

The event which was deemed to be held last year got deferred due to the global rise of coronavirus pandemic and is now scheduled to proceed from 23 July which will carry out to August 8. With women’s archery to open the trip of India at the Olympics 2020, the opening ceremony is planned for Friday night in the Japanese capital and the games got underway with women’s softball and women’s football game.
