From India, 120 athletes across 18 sporting categories have qualified in the final squad by their respective federations for the rescheduled Tokyo Olympics starting from July 23 to August 8. Here’s a list of all the athletes who qualified for the Tokyo Olympics.
In the men’s individual recurve squad and the men’s recurve team event, Tarundeep Rai, Atha Das and Pravin Jadhav have qualified. On the other side, Deepika Kumari is the only woman qualified for the women’s individual recurve for Tokyo 2020.
The Indian athletics squad qualified for Tokyo 2020; For men’s javelin throw – Neeraj Chopra, Shivpal Singh. For women’s 20km race-walk – Bhawna Jat, Priyanka Goswami. For men’s 20km race-walk – KT Irfan Thodi, Sandeep Kumar, Rahul Rohilla. For men’s 50km race-walk – Gurpreet Singh. For men’s 3000m steeplechase – Avinash Sable. For men’s long jump – M Sreeshankar.
For women’s discus throw – Kamalpreet Kaur, Seema Punia. For men’s shotput – Tajinderpal Singh Toor. Dutee Chand is qualified for women’s 100m and 200m. MP Jabir qualified for men’s 400m hurdles. Annu Rani is qualified for women’s javelin throw.
For the men’s 4x400m relay team – Amol Jacob, Rajiv Arokia, Muhammaed Anas, Naganathan Pandi & Moah Normal Tom are qualified.
For the mixed 4x400m relay time – Sarthank Bhambri, Alex Antony, Revathi, Veeramani, Subha Venkatesan & Dhanlakshmi Sekhar.
For women’s singles – PV Sindhu has qualified. Men’s singles – B Sai Praneeth has qualified. Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are qualified for men’s doubles.
Athletes that are qualified for Boxing – Satish Kumar (men’s 91+ kg), Ashish Kumar (Men’s 75 kg), Lovlina Borgohian (women’s 69 kg), Vikas Krishan (men’s 69 kg), Pooja Rani (women’s 75kg), Amit Panghal (men’s 52 kg), Mary Kom (women’s 51kg), Simranjit (women’s 60kg), Manish Kaushik (men’s 63kg).
Only Fouaad Mirza has qualified for Tokyo Olympics in this men’s individual eventing.
Bhavani Devi is the only woman to qualify in women’s sabre for Tokyo Olympics 2020.
For Golf, Anirban Lahiri, Aditi Ashok and Udayan Mane have qualified for Tokyo Olympics 2020.
Pranati Nayak is the only women’s artistic to qualify for Tokyo 2020.
India will be travelling to Tokyo 2020 with the men’s team and women’s team.
Sushila Devi is the only Indian travelling to Tokyo 2020 for judo.
Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh are qualified for men’s lightweight double sculls.
For sailing – Nethra Kumana (women’s laser radial), Vishnu Saravanan (men’s laser standard), KC Ganapathy and Varun Thakkar (men’s skiff 49er) have qualified for Tokyo 2020.
For shooting individual events – Anjum Moudgil (women’s 50m rifle 3-position), Tejaswini Sawant (women’s 50m rifle 3-position), Apurvi Chandela (women’s 10m air rifle), Elavenil Valarivan (women’s 10m air rifle), Manu Bhaker (women’s 10m air pistol and 25m pistol), Yashaswini Deswal (women’s 10m air pistol), Rahi Sarnobat (women’s 25m pistols), Divyansh Panwar (men’s 10m air rifle), Sanjeev Gupta (men’s 50m rifle 3-position), Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar (men’s 50m rifle 3-position), Saurabh Chaudhary (men’s 10m air pistol), Deepak Kumar (men’s 10m air rifle), Angad Veer Singh Bajwa (men’s skeet), Mairaj Ahmad Khan (men’s skeet) have qualified for Tokyo 2020.
For mixed team events – Divyansh Singh Panwar and Elavenil Valarivan; Deepak Kumar and Arjun Moudgil (10m air rifle), 10 air pistol Saurabh Chaudhary and Manu Bhaker; Abhishek Verma and Yashashwini Singh Deswal have qualified for Tokyo 2020.
For swimming – Sajan Prakash (men’s 200m butterfly), Srihari Nataraj (men’s 100m backstrokes) and Maana Patel (women’s 100m backstrokes) have qualified for Tokyo 2020.
15. Table Tennis
For table tennis – Achanta Sharath Kamal (men’s singles), Sathiyan Ghanasekaran (men’s singles), Manika Batra (women’s singles), Sutritha Mukherjee (women’s singles), Achanta Sharath Kamal and Manika Kamal (mixed doubles) have qualified for Tokyo 2020.
For tennis, only two Indians Sania Mirza and Ankita Raina (women’s doubles) have qualified for Tokyo 2020.
Only Saikhom Mirabai Chanu (women’s 48kg) have qualified in weightlifting for Tokyo 2020.
For wrestling – Ravi Dahiya (men’s 57kg freestyle), Bajrang Punia (men’s 65kg freestyle), Deepak Punia (men’s 86kg freestyle), Vinesh Phogat (women’s 53kg freestyle), Anshu Malik (women’s 57kg freestyle), Soman Malik (women’s 62kg freestyle) and Seema Bisla (women’s 50kg freestyle) have qualified for Tokyo 2020.
All these 120 athletes will travel to Tokyo for the Olympics, starting from July 23 to August 8. As per the latest announcement, there will be no spectators in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 venues.
