The Ultimate Draft held in honor of 75th anniversary of NBA

Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the NBA, TNT held an Ultimate Draft where teams of legendary basketball players and a few celebrities drafted players from the top 75 list released by the NBA.

The Ultimate Draft was broadcast today on TNT (An American television network) where 8 teams were drafted from the Top 75 list. Some of the teams were 1 member teams with Lakers legend and the only actual GM in the group Jerry West, Rapper Quavo, WNBA legend Sue Bird, comedian D.L Hughley and Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins going solo. There were 4 wildcard players added to the list to allow every team to draft 10 players. Inside the NBA host, the GOAT in broadcasting, Ernie Johnson was the Commissioner for the draft.

The 4 teams were the Inside the NBA Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley), TNT on Tuesday (Dwayne Wade, Adam Lefkoe, and Candace Parker), and the According to Sources ( Shams Charania and Chris Haynes). The first pick went to Dominique Wilkins and the last pick went to D.L Hughley. It was conducted as a snake draft which meant that the person who had the last pick would have the first pick in the next round.

The pick order was Dominique-Jerry West-According to Sources-Sue Bird-Quavo-TNT on Tuesday-Inside the NBA-D.L Hughley and vice-versa in consecutive rounds. Dominique started the draft by shockingly picking himself while Jerry West went after Kobe Bryant leaving Michael Jordan to be the 3rd pick According to Sources. Lebron went 4th to Sue Bird while Quavo took Stephen Curry with the 5th pick. TNT picked Shaq with their first pick and Inside picked Kareem Abdul Jabbar. D.L Hughley picked Hakeem ‘The Dream’ Olajuwon.

Ultimately the TNT on Tuesday team won with a 976 point rating of their team. The team had Shaq, Scottie Pippen, Jerry West, Chris Paul, and Kevin Durant. They had legends like George Mikan, Robert Parish, Bob Cousy, and Earl ‘the Pearl’ Monroe coming off the bench. The team also selected Wildcard player, Klay Thompson who did not make the original list as well. Jerry West’s team came in second and was a personal favourite starting with Kobe Bryant, Wilt Chamberlain, Charles Barkley, Elgin Baylor, and John Stockton.
