LeBron James had to leave the court and head to the locker room after taking an elbow to the eye during Team USA’s knockout stage game against Brazil at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Before the injury, LeBron had been a key player for Team USA, helping them build a solid 23-point lead going into the final quarter. In just 17 minutes on the floor, he scored 12 points, made nine assists, grabbed three rebounds, and stole the ball three times. His performance put him close to breaking an Olympic record for assists, a record shared by five players, including himself.
Unfortunately, LeBron’s game was cut short after he was accidentally elbowed by Brazilian forward Georginho De Paula. The impact left LeBron with a bleeding cut above his eye, and he had to go to the locker room at the start of the fourth quarter. He didn’t come back to the game, but he did return to the bench towards the end.
