Phoenix Suns back on track with another win against the Memphis Grizzlies

Chris Paul again led the Suns to another win with his 15 points and remarkable 12 assists on a mere 2 turnovers to win by 119-94.

The Phoenix Suns beat the Memphis Grizzlies 119-94 on Friday night (Saturday, Manila time) for their sixth straight win. Devin Booker and Jae Crowder each scored 17 points, while Chris Paul contributed 15 points and 12 assists even in his 17th year in the NBA, he is leading the NBA in assists with almost 11 assists per game. Mikal Bridges scored 13 points for the defending Western Conference champion Suns, who never trailed in the game. From the late portions of the first quarter to the completion of the game, Phoenix led by double digits.
Jarrett Jackson Jr. had 19 points and Ja Morant had 26 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists to lead Memphis. Only 7 of 33 3-point tries were made by the Grizzlies, who shot 38 per cent. Memphis’ dismal shooting in the first half was aided by Phoenix’s defence. In the first half, the Grizzlies shot only 37% from the field and were 3 of 12 from beyond the arc.
The Grizzlies’ woes were exacerbated by their nine turnovers. Phoenix, meanwhile, shot better than 50% for the majority of the first half, with Paul scoring 13 points and missing only one of his seven shots to push the Suns to a 19-point halftime advantage. In the third, the gap had grown to 38 points.

The Phoenix Suns missed some of their key players, their star centre Deandre Ayton, who has now missed his 4th straight game due to right lower leg contusion, and their sharpshooter Landry Shamet has also been out of the lineup with a right foot contusion.
