Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid wins 2021-22 NBA scoring title

Embiid powered the Philadelphia 76ers with 41 points, 20 rebounds and four assists in their 133-120 victory against the Indiana Pacers on Saturday.

Joel Embiid, the star of the Philadelphia 76ers clinches the NBA scoring title for the 2021-22 season to become the first center to lead the league in scoring since Shaquille O’Neal in 1999-2000, reported Senior lead NBA insider, writer and analyst for The Athletic Shams Charania.

It was anticipated as the close contender LeBron James needed to play 56 games to be eligible to win the title and he is ruled out of the remaining regular season for the Los Angeles Lakers who are now out of the Play-In Tournament with only one game left. Giannis Antetokounmpo on the other hand was the only close one to be compared to Embiid. Kevin Durant was also out of eligibility as he was sidelined for the Brooklyn Nets’ initial games.
