The 2024 Formula One season is kicking into high gear as we hit the halfway mark, with the 11th race of the year revving up today at the Austrian Grand Prix.
Held at the Red Bull Ring, this is home turf for the team of three-time defending world champion Max Verstappen. Winning the Austrian Grand Prix has practically become a routine for Verstappen, but Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes are determined to break that streak.
McLaren’s Lando Norris nearly did just that in Spain last weekend, finishing a mere two seconds behind Verstappen after qualifying on pole and clocking the race’s fastest lap. Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and George Russell also put up a strong fight and are eyeing the top of the podium in Austria.

Verstappen maintains a comfortable lead in his quest for a fourth consecutive World Drivers’ Championship. After a nail-biting victory over Norris in Barcelona, Verstappen has now won seven of the ten races this season, showcasing Red Bull’s continued dominance.
Red Bull’s other drivers, Sergio Perez, Daniel Ricciardo, and Yuki Tsunoda (Racing Bulls-Honda), are all eager to shine on a track they know like the back of their hands. The pressure is on for all the other teams to crash this Austrian homecoming party.
