McLaren is set to introduce performance upgrades to their car at the Austrian Grand Prix, according to driver Lando Norris. Originally planned for the Silverstone race, the team has managed to bring the upgrades forward to Spielberg.
Norris will be the first to utilize the new package, with teammate Oscar Piastri receiving it in the following week. The upgrades are expected to enhance the car’s performance and make it easier for McLaren to score points.
Norris expressed his excitement about the improvements, emphasizing the team’s efforts to push through the upgrades ahead of schedule.
Piastri also shared his anticipation for the upgraded package and expressed the team’s determination to secure points. The upgrades signify an important step for McLaren as they seek to improve their competitiveness in upcoming races.
The team have done a good job. We weren’t meant to have these bits here originally, it was only meant to be for Silverstone. So it’s good we have pushed through as many things as we could, especially with it being a Sprint Race – two races to potentially score points – Norris told Sky Sports F1.
